Hoteles Poseidon is a brand name of Hoteles Devesa S.A., a company born after a long family experience in the local hostelry business of Benidorm dating from 1928 when the grandfather of the present Managing Director opened a bar in the town.
Later,the family ran a Pension until in 1973 the brothers Domingo, Pere Joan and sister Josefa inaugurated the first Hotel Poseidon. During the 90's the Poseidon Palace, the Poseidon Playa and the charming Hotel Alahuar, situated in the mountains nearby, were added.
In 1995 Pere Joan Devesa took hold of the company on the death of his brother Domingo who, since 1975, had led the family businesses. Domingo Devesa was one of the founding fathers of the CDT - Centre for Tourist Development and the Benidorm installations today bear his name.
Today the Poseidon Group controls 1370 rooms, about 3000 hotelbeds, and has a staff of near 350 in Benidorm, Guardamar and Benimaurell, Vall de Laguar.
